A re-cut (recutting) of gemstones takes place under certain conditions

a) Re-cutting of stones from countries that are only allowed to export cutted stones

b) Re-cutting of a stone to a size (setting) specified by the customer.

Process of recutting

- The stone is recorded in the quality in which it is purchased (for fiscal inventory)

- If the gem-code (quality of the stone) changes due to the recutting process

the resulting quality changes are documented in the memo field, so that it remains traceable

with which qualities the stone was purchased. The same applies to cutting down to size.

- The costs for re-cutting/cutting down can be entered in a separate field.
